You’ll learn about the work we do at Fitch, why we’re so important in the global market, and our culture. You’ll learn the ethical and procedural responsibilities of being an analytical team member. You’ll also receive the exposure, and foundational credit and analytical training that will serve as a strong building block for your future career development. And the most important component is the on-the-job learning opportunities that a Summer Analyst position provides.

Job Description

Financial Institutions:

Fitch has long been the industry leader in the financial institutions sector, providing more ratings worldwide than any other rating agency – on over 3,500 entities and their securities.

Fitch’s financial institutions’ coverage includes not only banks, but also finance and leasing companies, securities firms and asset management organizations. In addition, the group supports dedicated teams for rating specialized securities such as covered bonds.

Structured Finance:

Fitch’s European Structured Finance team maintains existing ratings and assigns ratings to new structured finance transactions. Fitch currently rates Structured Finance transactions across four main asset classes: Asset Backed Securities, Residential Mortgage Backed Securities, Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities and Structured Credit.
Fitch Ratings maintains surveillance on over 1,500 European structured finance transactions

We are committed to bringing our legacy of transparency and openness to bear in all areas of the structured finance market. We have developed new investor-focused surveillance tools and enhanced our existing offerings to ensure that a security’s risk is clearly identified and that our opinions continue to be objective and forward-looking. In the complex field of global securitization, Fitch Ratings explores every angle of a transaction so that investors have the additional insight and context necessary to make timely and informed business decisions.

Corporates:

The Fitch Ratings Corporates group provides public and private ratings on companies and their debt instruments, including — bank loans, senior and subordinated debt, commercial paper and preferred stock.

The group's analytical methodology addresses the legal, regulatory and market environments in over 100 countries in which Fitch Ratings operates, with particular emphasis on debt structure. Corporates group analysts continually expand and deepen their research, combining industry expertise with the finest analytical tools to offer well-informed and timely judgments.

Sovereigns:

The Fitch Ratings Sovereigns Group provides credit research and opinion on more than 100 countries, and assigns ratings to the foreign and local currency debt of sovereign governments that account for virtually all of sovereign international debt issuance.

The Sovereigns group offers forward-looking special reports and a range of web-based analytical tools, allowing investors to access comprehensive economic data and credit indicators and perform relative value analysis. We also host teleconferences, seminars and conferences in the world's major financial centres to keep investors ahead of the curve. The depth and accuracy of our coverage and timeliness of our research are key reasons why the capital markets put their trust in a Fitch Ratings sovereign rating.

Insurance:

Fitch Ratings knows what it takes to deliver value, meaning and insightful ratings to market participants. With coverage across all areas of the insurance market including life, non-life, and reinsurance, our experienced analysts apply an open and balanced approach to credit assessment. Leveraging industry data and well-tested credit metrics, our analytical process is supported by a careful mix of quantitative and qualitative factors. Our global insurance team transforms data into actionable opinions that help investors confidently evaluate risk.

The firm also provides financial strength and debt ratings for more than 2,500 insurance companies globally.

Global Infrastructure Group:

Fitch's Global Infrastructure and Project Finance Group (GIG) is responsible for the credit ratings of debt related to infrastructure assets mainly in the transportation, energy, and social infrastructure sectors.

The portfolio includes public ratings and private credit opinions covering a variety of transaction types (project finance, corporate finance and structured finance).
