About the Role:

Imagine being responsible for marketing and selling the brands that are so well loved the world over. In either of the following highly numerical, data-driven roles, you will be based in JDE's Hurley (Berkshire) office and will be working with a diverse range of retail customers. You could be influencing the placement of JDE’s products on Tesco’s store shelves nationwide or managing key relationships with the likes of online retail giants Amazon and Ocado.

  • Category and Shopper Marketing
    • This team generates insights from lots of data and spreadsheets about driving growth within the coffee market.
    • You may be analysing and comparing shelf placement, online marketing or in-store display units etc.
    • You will have an individual project which may be looking at the e-commerce website and analysing performance, for example.
    • You will be focussing on strategic growth areas and start to finish growth areas.
  • Online Account Executive
    • This role involves forecasting sales and understanding retail. You will also have an individual project.
    • You will be supporting the online business manager to create the customer growth strategy and to execute the double digit growth of online pure play customers (Amazon and Ocado).
    • You will work on promotion and activation plans.

Requirements:

  • Analytical/numerical degrees are best suited to these data-driven roles, including but not limited to: business, finance, management, accounting, maths, science, economics and econometrics.
  • There will be a lots of spreadsheets and data analysis, so you must be confident with numbers and be very focussed on the detail, spotting trends and putting forward fact-based arguments.
  • An interest in FMCG and retail is very important, as understanding the consumer and their shopping habits is vital to the role.
  • You must be able to work independently, yet collaboratively, in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
  • You must be an undergraduate looking for a 12-month Year-in-Industry placement from July 2019 to July 2020.

There are 2 very different HR placements available this year at JDE:

  • Talent, Learning and Development:
    • Learning and development (L&D) are in charge of developing resources and documents, handling logistics, admin and onboarding of new staff into the business.
    • Talent look at the personal and professional development of the people at JDE. You will be helping to ensure that JDE has the best people by making sure they are undertaking continuous learning and development programmes.
    • You will work with leadership teams, as well as with the Irish and Amsterdam HR teams. You can also shadow other parts of the business during your placement year.
  • Human Resources:
    • You will work with the Manufacturing HR team, supporting the Senior HR Business Partner and 2 HR Business Partners with more traditional HR delivery.
    • This will involve working on updating policies, employee relation cases, trade union communication, supporting change programmes, supporting engagement strategy, as well as day to admin handling such as new starters, on-boarding, updates etc.

About the Role:

  • They say that money makes the world go around, and without sufficient finances spent in the correct way, JDE's Banbury 'power plant' would grind to a halt.
  • Manufacturing Finance at JDE is no ordinary finance role and while you will be analysing and potentially even advising where or how the money is spent, you will be working within the manufacturing operations departments and will be required to get stuck into the manufacture of coffee and the overall operations of the factory.
  • This role is very similar to management accounting, and you will be looking at material productivity and losses, and presenting these results to senior team leaders.
  • You will work on projects including the verification of the assets of the plant, which includes stock checks.

Requirements:

  • You must be studying for a numerical/analytical degree such as: business, finance, management, accounting, mathematics, economics or related subjects.
  • An interest in manufacturing, operations or FMCG would be helpful as you’ll be getting stuck in with the operations team. This is not a purely desk-based data analysis role.
  • You must be an undergraduate looking for a 12-month Year-in-Industry placement from July 2019 to July 2020.
