The Employability Hub at Sheffield University Management School provides students with a range of skills programmes and resources designed to help you improve your employability potential. Below is an outline of the different activity programmes happening throughout the year.

Futures First Discovery events bring employers, alumni and students together. Events will include talks and drop-ins from industry experts. You can hear about current business issues, graduate recruitment markets and get a taste of what is like to work in a different organisations and sectors.

Futures First Discovery events provide opportunities to find out about different career options whilst picking up some great tips to aid job and placement hunting, as well as hints and tips on developing strong applications and interview techniques.

All Masters Management students who wish to take part in a company based dissertation project, organised by the Management School, are required to complete an Employability Passport. This includes attending sessions on:

Your future starts here. Our exciting initiative will get you thinking about your employability from day one.
Futures First starts at the beginning of your first year of undergraduate degree. It combines invited speakers from industry, practical, reflective workshops, and the building of a personal development plan. The programme has an external focus thanks to contributions from our advisory board, which is comprised of senior figures from business, so the outcomes from Futures First will meet the high expectations of your future employers.
Undergraduate single-honours students in the Management School will take part in this dedicated Futures First module throughout their first year.

Sheffield University Management School has a lively series of research seminars, delivered by our specialist research groups, with guest speakers from both academia and industry. Students are encouraged to attend, to help widen your knowledge of the research that the school is involved with, and how it has real impact upon organisations.
